SML Mahindra
SML Mahindra’s shares hit a 20% upper circuit for the second straight day after Mahindra & Mahindra’s board approved the sale of its truck and bus business to its subsidiary for ₹525 crore, as it looks to consolidate its commercial vehicle business under a single entity.
Balkrishna Industries
Balkrishna Industries shares rose over 11% after strong Q1FY27 earnings, with a net profit increase of 56.4% YoY to ₹451 crore. Its revenue grew 25% YoY to ₹3,455 crore. The board declared a first interim dividend of ₹4 per share with August 4 as the record date.
Redington
Redington, Apple’s official reseller, gained 18% during early trades today, after the company’s consolidated profit after tax (PAT) grew 77% in Q1 FY27 as against ₹275 crore in the same period last year. This growth is more than twice as much as its revenue from operations, which grew by 35% to ₹34,922 crore in Q1FY27, as compared to ₹25,952 crore on a year-on-year (YoY) basis, marking the highest-ever quarterly revenue.
MTAR Technologies
MTAR Technologies was locked in the 5% upper circuit after winning more orders in Q1 than all of FY26. Its order book stood at ₹5,143.3 crore at the end of the June quarter, surpassing the ₹5,000 crore closing order book target it had set for the end of FY27. It reported a 348% year-on-year jump in June-quarter net profit to ₹50.2 crore, while revenue more than doubled to ₹360 crore.
Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki India has commenced commercial production at the fourth plant of its Hansalpur facility in Gujarat. The new plant, with an annual production capacity of 250,000 units, began operations and will initially manufacture the company’s battery electric vehicle, the e VITARA. This is its first manufacturing facility globally to achieve an annual production capacity of 1 million vehicles at a single location. It is also India’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturing facility at one site.

What’s Happening Beyond Markets?
- In a 9-3 vote, the Fed decided to leave rates unchanged in the 3.5%-3.75% range. Warsh signalled that future hikes weren’t ruled out to combat inflation.
- Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said India expects the first tranche of its Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) with the United States to come into force once Washington ensures India enjoys a tariff advantage over competing exporters in neighbouring countries and the ASEAN region.

- The Government of India has imposed stockholding limits on sugar dealers across the country from August 1 to November 30, saying the move is aimed at preventing hoarding, keeping sugar prices under control, and ensuring adequate supplies for consumers.
- The US Senate has advanced a Russia sanctions bill that could let President Donald Trump impose tariffs of up to 100% on major buyers of Russian oil, including India, if it becomes law.
