Nifty 50 and Sensex closed with gains for the fourth session in a row! Nifty 50 closed 1.60% higher at 24,774 points, while the Sensex gained merely 0.70% in comparison and closed at 78,639 points. The luxury watch retailer’s shares surged by nearly 20% after the company reported a 47% increase in its net profit to ₹28 crore in Q1FY27 (April-June quarter) from ₹19 crore in the same quarter a year ago. Its revenue increased by 34% to ₹462 crore from ₹346 crore in the year-ago period.
The home convenience services provider’s share price surged as much as 17% in response to its quarterly results. Revenue for the quarter grew by 44% from last year to ₹528 crore, however its net loss widened to ₹92 crore. On the bright side, the amount lost per InstaHelp order decreased from ₹447 to ₹346.
The company’s shares gained after it reported its third profitable quarter. The fintech’s revenue from operations increased to ₹281 crore in Q1FY27, compared to ₹271 crore a year ago. The automaker reported a significantly improved June-quarter performance. Its net loss narrowed to ₹51 crore, a marked improvement from the ₹178.2 crore loss reported in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue rose 88.8% year-on-year to ₹1,217 crore.
In a setback for the energy exchange, the Supreme Court has allowed the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) to go ahead with framing market coupling regulations, even through IEX had approached the apex court seeking a stay order or a complete halt. The company contended that its own commercial success “can’t be nationalised,” and questioned whether exchanges as different as BSE and NSE could simply be “clubbed together” under a common framework.

What’s Happening Beyond Markets?
- .Petrol and diesel sales by India’s Indian Oil Corp (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) rose sharply in July as below-normal monsoon rainfall boosted fuel demand from farmers and motorists.
- India’s coal production grew 7.51% and dispatch rose 17.34% in July 2026, Ministry of Coal data shows. Production hit 69.75 MT, dispatch 86.33 MT.
- Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has reduced the price of commercial LPG cylinders from August 1, offering relief to restaurants, hotels, caterers and other businesses that rely on the fuel for daily operations. The prices of domestic LPG cylinders remain unchanged.
- Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has increased the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) supplied to domestic airlines by ₹5 per litre, effective August 1. This is expected to increase fuel costs for domestic carriers.
- The Union Cabinet has extended the PM-Kisan income support scheme for another five years, approved a bigger Khelo India programme (₹36,441 crore), and cleared a new floating solar initiative (₹ 5,070 crore), together committing over ₹3.5 lakh crore towards farmers, sports and clean energy.
