Its net profit increased by 31.64% to ₹240.12 Cr during the June quarter, while cost of materials consumed decreased by 10.89% and finance costs reduced by 41.65%. The company holds a 6.8% global market share in MIM technology, supplying precision-engineered metal components across automotive, aerospace, defence, and medical device sectors.
The company said its overseas arm ONGC Videsh (OVL) received the required approval from the US government in July 2026 to resume oil and gas operations in Venezuela. It added that framework agreements for the further course of action in both assets are currently under discussion with relevant stakeholders.
Advait Greenergy, a subsidiary of the company, received a ₹116 crore order from KPI Green Energy Ltd. for a 200 MW solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. This order is for a turnkey contract for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work for the solar ground-mounted HSAT 33 KV project. The contract includes design, supplies, services, testing and commissioning.
Shares of Chennai Petroleum Corporation (CPCL) and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (MRPL) surged as much as 7% on Tuesday, August 18, as global refining margins strengthened sharply amid supply disruptions and tighter refined product inventories. The rally came as US refining margins have spiked near $70 a barrel, while European diesel margins have jumped to around $65 a barrel.
Shares of the Tata Group company came under sharp selling pressure on August 18, 2026, after the company announced a $20 million investment in Lunar Holdco, the parent entity of Elveo Mobile. The stock fell as much as 12.45% to ₹946.90, with investors weighing the potential long-term satellite opportunity against the investment’s uncertain returns and execution risks.

- To safeguard its local glass industry, India has enacted a minimum import price for clear float glass, directly benefiting manufacturers like Saint-Gobain. This policy, announced by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, will restrict imports priced below thirty-four thousand Rupees per tonne and will be in effect for the next year, aiming to enhance domestic production.
- RBI faces challenges forecasting demand for banknotes as currency in circulation continues to grow at double-digit rates despite rising digital payments. Deputy Governor SC Murmu said cash remains widely used, particularly in rural areas, among low-income groups and small businesses.
- A strengthening El Niño could disrupt global supplies of cocoa, coffee and sugar through drought, heat and excessive rainfall. Forecasters see a greater than 90% chance of a very strong event, posing fresh risks to major producing regions.
- In an effort to reign in soaring domestic sugar prices, India is mulling over lowering its sugar import duty.
