What happens if my trading account becomes inactive, and how can I reactivate it?
If your trading account is marked inactive:
- You cannot place new trades in stocks, ETFs, or derivatives
- You cannot sell any existing holdings
- You cannot add funds to your trading account
- You can still apply for IPOs, but you will not be able to sell the shares allocated from them
- Your existing holdings will remain securely stored in your demat account
- Any remaining funds will be settled periodically as per your preference (monthly or quarterly)
To reactivate an account that has been inactive for over 24 months, a Re-KYC process is mandatory. You must confirm or update the following details:
- Address, mobile number, and email ID
- Bank account or DP details
- Income Details
If any of your KYC details are outdated, they must be updated before reactivation.
