RailTel Corporation of India Limited is a Mini Ratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways. It is a telecom infrastructure provider and possesses an extensive Pan-India optical fibre network that runs alongside railway tracks. 

Business Segment

The company’s operations are divided into two segments: 

  • Telecom Services Segment: offers a wide spectrum of telecom services to its clients, encompassing managed data services, leased lines, virtual private networks, Internet leased lines, data centre solutions, and more
  • Project Work Services Segment: This segment includes the national optical fibre network, telecommunications and IT service-related initiatives, and enterprise-specific IT and ITES projects
  • Other Services: offers content on-demand services and Wi-Fi connectivity at railway stations throughout the country
