The KP Group, a prominent Gujarat-based conglomerate specializing in renewable energy, has signed a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to develop a comprehensive Hydrogen and Electric Vehicle (EV) fuel station network across the state. This major initiative is aligned with the group’s key solar vertical, KPI Green Energy Ltd.
The agreement, formalized at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Mehsana, signifies a crucial step in strengthening Gujarat’s clean energy and e-mobility ecosystem. Under the terms of the MoU, the KP Group has committed to an investment of ₹8,000 crore to establish the state-wide refuelling network. This massive project is expected to create approximately 1,000 employment opportunities.
The initiative, signed by Mr. Affan Patel, Whole Time Director of KP Group, and Smt. Bhakti Shamal, Joint Secretary of the Energy & Petrochemicals Department, will serve as a key enabler for Gujarat’s transition toward low-carbon, sustainable mobility.
The Government of Gujarat has pledged to actively facilitate the KP Group by assisting in obtaining all necessary permissions, registrations, approvals, and clearances in line with state policies. This government support aims to ensure the timely and smooth implementation of the project.
Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Founding Promoter of KP Group, emphasized that this collaboration reinforces Gujarat’s leadership in clean energy. The goal is to build a robust, future-ready refuelling ecosystem that encourages industries, public transport, and private mobility to confidently adopt cleaner fuels, thereby cementing Gujarat’s status as a frontrunner in sustainable infrastructure development.
