Over 335 companies posted their Q2 (July-September Quarter) results yesterday, including Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Holdings & Investment, Tata Power Company, Bosch, and BSE Limited. The performance of each company has been compared to their results from the same quarter last year:
- Net Interest Income: ₹37,403 crore 🔼 11%, from ₹33,704 crore
- Profit: ₹2,244 crore 🔼 8%, from ₹2,087 crore
- Life Insurance business’s value (VNB) surged by 50%, driven by the “Bajaj Life 2.0” strategy focusing on a profitable product mix and 71% growth in retail protection sales.
- Revenue: ₹396.87 crore 🔼42.21%, from ₹279.07 crore
- Profit: ₹1,559.02 crore 🔼 8.54%, from ₹1,436.36 crore
- A significant, one-time boost to the profit was the sale of a portion of BHIL’s stake in Bajaj Finserv Limited (BFS). This strategic sale was specifically undertaken to partially fund the upcoming acquisition of a greater stake in the two insurance companies (Bajaj General Insurance and Bajaj Life Insurance).
- Revenue from Operations: ₹15,769 crore 🔼 3%, from ₹15,247 crore
- Profit: ₹1,245 crore 🔼 14%, from ₹1,093 crore
- Tata Power has announced the proposed acquisition of a 40% equity stake in a new entity (SPV) to develop the 1125 MW Dorjilung Hydro Power Project in Bhutan, accelerating its clean energy transition. The acquisition will be for approximately ₹1,572 crore in cash consideration.
- Performance was driven by its solar manufacturing arm earning the global Bloomberg NEF Tier-1 status, validating its ability to supply high-quality modules for global markets.
- Tata Power continued to strengthen its market position in the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem, with its total public chargers now standing at 5,613 and home chargers exceeding 1.7 lakh points.
- Revenue from Operations: ₹4,794.8 crore 🔼 9.1%, from ₹4,394.3 crore
- Profit: ₹554.2 crore 🔼3.41% , from ₹535.9 crore
- The 2-Wheeler segment achieved 81.8% growth, demonstrating the successful expansion into the high-volume Indian powersports market.
- Revenue from Operations: ₹1,068.4 crore 🔼 44.24%, from ₹740.7 crore
- Profit: ₹557 crore 🔼 61.08%, from ₹345.8 crore
- Performance was driven by soaring activity in Equity Derivatives, translating directly into a massive surge in the Average Daily Premium Turnover to ₹15,004.5 crore in the quarter
- The BSE StAR MF platform solidified its position by capturing the retail boom, evidenced by a 26% increase in the Number of Orders processed for the half-year.
- Underlying growth was supported by technology upgrades that dramatically improved trade processing speed by 9x (from 3,000 to 27,000 trades per second per member)
