This Week’s Spotlight Story
A deep dive into the headline that defined market conversations.
India’s Services Exports Rose to USD 421.3 Billion in FY 2025-26
India’s services exports have reached USD 421.3 billion in FY 2025-26. The primary drivers of this expansion are Telecommunications, computer and information services, which account for a 49.03% share at USD 206.6 billion, and Business services, contributing 29.5% at USD 124.2 billion. To enhance services exports, the Government of India follows a multi-pronged strategy comprising focused market strategies, resolution of domestic sectoral challenges, and comprehensive Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
Through FTAs, the government has secured market access, time-bound authorisation processes, and Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs) for professional qualifications. Supportive frameworks include student provisions with Australia and New Zealand, Traditional Medicine annexes with Oman and the EU, and a Social Security Contributions agreement signed with the UK on February 10, 2026, to avoid double payments. Trade promotion is driven by the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC), which organised the Medical Value Tourism Summit and the Indian Pavilions at international exhibitions such as the Arabian Travel Market, the Tokyo Games Show, and MIPCOM.
That’s a wrap for this week.
