A deep dive into the headline that defined market conversations.

ITC’s Rural Bet Pays Off: Solid Q4 Amid Urban Slowdown and Margin Pressures

ITC just dropped its FY25 scorecard, and it’s a mix of grit, growth, and smart plays.

Net profit jumped 69% to ₹35,053 crore, with steady growth across atta, spices, frozen snacks, and even agarbattis (not notebooks, though, thanks to local rivals).

Cigarettes held strong with 7.1% growth, agri business surged 25%, the Hotels arm was demerged, and key FMCG buys (24 Mantra, Mother Sparsh, Prasuma) were announced.

Rural reach is cushioning urban slowdown, but margins are still under pressure. Final dividend? ₹7.85/share. Eyes are now on a rural-led rebound as inflation cools.
