- The government’s organic fertilizer initiative could boost the biogas industry by $2.6 billion. The 1985 Fertilizer Order now includes ‘Organic Carbon Enhancers’ from CBG plants, promoting sustainable farming and environmental benefits while improving agricultural productivity across the country.
- India’s crude oil imports from Russia fell in February reflecting the impact of US sanctions. - India’s Private Final Consumption Expenditure (PFCE) grew by 6.9% in Q3, helped by rural demand and festivals, up from 5.9% in Q2. For the full year, it’s expected to grow 7.6%. Government spending also increased, pushing GDP growth to 6.2% from 5.6% in the last quarter.
- FMCG volume growth improved to 4.6% in the December quarter from 4.1% in the September quarter but remained lower than last year’s 6.3%. Personal care grew to 5.7% from 4.1% in the September quarter, and home care rose to 3.8% from 2.9%. However, food and beverages slowed to 4.7% compared to 6.3% last year as inflation pushed consumers toward cheaper options.
