What is the Price Band in an IPO?

The price band in an IPO is the range in which investors can bid for shares.

If the band is ₹100–₹120, you can’t bid below ₹100 or above ₹120. Companies set this range with help from bankers based on valuation and demand.

SEBI rules say the upper limit can’t be more than 20% higher than the lower one. A smart price band attracts more investors.
