What Is Return on Assets (ROA)?

Return on Assets (ROA) measures how efficiently a company uses its assets to generate profits, essentially, how much profit each rupee of assets produces.

Think of it as measuring how productively a company uses everything it owns.

ROA helps compare companies of different sizes within the same industry.

Higher ROA indicates more efficient asset utilization.

For banks, ROA is especially important; manufacturing companies generally have lower ROA due to heavy asset requirements, while service companies often show higher ROA.
